Munnar is famous for its tea plantations, scenic beauty, cool climate and the rare Neelakurinji flowers that blooms once in every 12 years. As I've already visited Munnar, I preferred a more leisure and a mesmerizing stay in the outskirts of Munnar town. Starting from Chennai, I arrived early in the morning with my family at Kochin Domestic Airport. The 3-hour car drive through the beautiful valleys and plantations gave us the nostalgic moments from us previous visit to Munnar. The first thing that hit me is the climate and the lush green tea estates. Also, the route from Kochin to Munnar had many adventurous activities like ziplining, ropeway etc.,
My journey began with a warm welcome at a resort called "Haze and kites" from Kondody hotel group. It is a premium and luxury stay located at Sengulam. Checking into the two room with different views - mountain & garden, I realised, I chose a perfect stay for next 2 days. The sight of the mighty western ghats with a silvery blanket like clouds left me breathless, both literally and emotionally
The highlight of this resort is the nearby Sengulam dam that has boating attractions and countless restaurants on the way. The speed boat drivers didn't miss a chance to show off their skills to attract the tourists. The infinity pool at this resort is definitely the show stealer with a magnificient backdrop allowing us to enjoy romantic evenings and beautiful mornings under the golden Sun. The evening high tea is set up in a traditional ambience called "Thattukada". One can enjoy a perfect tea and spicy Kerala eateries between 4:30 to 5:30 PM. Most of our meals were planned at their multi-cuisine restaurant that offered mouth-watering dishes but they were a little overpriced. Last but not the least, one can get fascinated by their open deck that provides an astonishing view of the western ghats.
On the third day of the vacay, we shifted to another beautiful resort that's located near Kerala-Tamilnadu border.
